There are so many things you can do to get your healthy lifestyle going, and it’s not all about food! We’ve rounded up five habits you can easily incorporate into your day to get the best results over time – try just one or two a day then gradually build up to five to kickstart a healthier lifestyle.
Healthy habit #1
We talk about drinking more water to keep your body hydrated a lot because it’s so important! If you’re someone who tends to reach for something flavoured like juice or a soft drink though, our advice would be to try a tasty tea made with natural ingredients so not only will it be delicious, it’ll top up your fluid levels at the same time.
Healthy habit #2
Getting the good quality rest your body needs is crucial – everyone knows what it feels like to be cranky after a bad night’s sleep or not enough sleep. Most of us need around eight hours of sleep a night so don’t deprive yourself. Sleep is what helps our bodies to recover, lifts our mood, helps with weight control and minimises the risk of illness.
Healthy habit #3
Live life with more zeal! By this, we mean find something that takes you away from your computer for a bit of time in the week. It’s your chance to try something new like a yoga class you never make time for, or signing up for that language class you’ve had your eye on for a while. Life is for living, after all.
Healthy habit #4
Make sure you start the day with a healthy, protein-filled breakfast. And the type of protein you choose is equally important according to studies – opt for milk and yoghurt based-breakfasts to get more whey protein and help you feel fuller for longer.
Healthy habit #5
Protect your skin every day by using a SPF moisturiser of at least 30. We say this because ultraviolet rays still get through those clouds and onto your skin so it’s a must for all year-round; not just for summer holidays. By applying a moisturiser with added SPF, you help protect your skin against premature ageing, and skin damage.
